Aberdeen Dyce International Airport—usually referred to as "Aberdeen Airport"—is a busy international airport and heliport owned and run by BAA and located in Aberdeen, Scotland. It is currently ranked as third-busiest in Scotland (based on total passenger movements in 2010). Sporting a 6000 foot main runway (16/34), with an extension of the main runway only recently finished, the airport can handle anything in size from a small Cessna to medium-sized jets such as the Boeing 757, 767 or Airbus A300. Aberdeen Airport is also well-known as one of the busiest commercial heliports in the world. This is made possible by the large demand for oil industry-related helicopter traffic in Aberdeen, and the provision of three additional runways used specifically for helicopter traffic.
